SEEKING
Band to Join.ABOUT
I've been playing the drums since I was 12, learning my chops in a marching band. I had a break in my mid 20s-30s to focus on my day job as a scientist, but over the last 10 years, I have picked up my sticks and started gigging and recording again with two different originals bands, a professional solo artist and a party band.
Its never about the money for me. I just love being in bands and making music with fellow musicians, whether its new, experimental or classic covers. I firmly believe that the drummer's role is to lift and enhance the instruments and voices of the other players in the band and not to take over.
I'm a team player, committed and I know what hard work means. Also, unusually for a drummer, I am very well educated (I have a PhD), so have no problem helping out with any administrative duties etc.
I have good quality acoustic kit and I am also ok with electronics and triggers to build in hybrid elements.
Happy to play most genres, including indie, blues, dance, reggae, ska, latin, rock, jazz, or pop, but have always been a fan of something a bit more funky.
I reckon I'm somewhere between moderate and advanced.
