SEEKINGBand to Join, Rhythm Guitar, Lead Guitar, Acoustic Guitar, Bass Guitar, Keyboard, Mandolin, Fiddle, Upright bass.
I have played guitar for 50 years and Dobro fo 10.
Having learned the usual bluegrass and country stuff I became bored with its predictability and over the past 3 years have been working on Hot Club style gypsy jazz and swing on the Dobro.
I'm looking for like minded instrumentalists to play with and ultimately form a gigging band. I'm also available to play Dobro or steel guitar as a session musician.

Quintet of the Hot Cub of France and contemporary gypsy jazz players. Music forming the repertoire of the bands I play in, particularly American Western Swing.
I have a couple of high quality Accoustic Dobros and a Gretsch with a fishman pickup which is great for gigging. I also have a small PA and various quality acoustic guitars and mandolins

Dobro DemoA demonstration of the acoustic sounds (not my playing!) of my resonator guitars, prompted by my completion of a parlour sized Dobro. 1: Gretsch Bobtail || 2: Tav-Bro maple bodied 8 string built from scratch, currently tuned to C6, soundpost construction || 3: Beard Mahogany R, lovely warm traditional sound and construction || 4: Parlour/travel Dobro, all mahogany from an old shop counter, 24" scale, 9" diameter Beard spider cone - surprisingly loud Dobro like sound but not surprisingly lacks the resonance of a bigger body. Soundpost construction || 5: Rayco all maple large body, soundpost construction, more modern sound with a good cut, my session favourite (though not always the favourite of the people next to me!) || 6: Tav-Bro 12 string, body from a Beard soundwell type kit, neck maple, light stringsguaged to match the tension of a standard 6 string. || 7:Harley Benton roundneck National copy, retrofitted with a National cone and biscuit, a major improvement on the original, more mellow but still penty of volume. All recorded on a Boss BR - 800 with a Samson C1 condenser microphone.
Prinsurf RoyalThat old English Morris dance tune again but reimagined as a surf guitar thrash. Ugly but fun!
Princess RoyalPrincess Royal, an English morris dance tune on the Dobro. Why not? A few rough edges but the first outing with the digital multitrack.
