Band to Join.

I have played mainly in covers bands but my previous local York based band was essentially an originals band and towards the end of my time with them we only played one cover in our set and even that was a mash-up with an original song. I am now in a covers band again but my time with an originals band means I am not quite so strict on always sticking closely to the original version of a song.

When we are allowed to rehearse again it will be an eclectic set of songs which will include work from artists such as The Pretenders, Sia, Fleetwood Mac, The Detroit Cobras, Hannah Aldridge, Magic Sam, Sting, Sister Sledge, Eilen Jewell, Paul Weller, Sheryl Crow. This is not an exhaustive list and while the music is from a diverse range of artists we will probably stamp our own identity on them one way or another. The current line-up is: vocalist, drums, bass and guitar. Band members, me included, have thought it would be good to get a keyboard player in the band so if there is anyone reading this who plays keyboards then it would be lovely to hear from you.

My roots seem to be in the rock bands of the late sixties early seventies era and early influences were Hendrix, Clapton, Frampton, Beck, Page, Trower, May. I have not remained stuck in that era and also enjoy more contemporary music - The Temperance Movement are a bit of a favourite at the moment.
