Hudsy - Modest Hero (Wedding:USA Fundraiser)
Hudsy - Modest Hero (Wedding:USA Fundraiser)This was the most difficult song out of the fundraiser so far because I wanted to do this right. A friend donated and unbeknownst to me because I hadn't seen her in a long time, she had gone through a very difficult surgery due to cancer. It was an extremely hard time that I can't imagine and she spoke of it bravely. I mentioned her bravery and she said that she didn't feel brave. I said something to the effect that hero's never feel brave, but they do what others feel they can't and that is how those people become inspired by their resilience. She went through something that I don't know if I could've gotten through it. She spoke about how after the surgery it was supposed to be a six month recovery and she is still recovering three years later. Her family and friends have been so supportive that at some points they are too supportive and she felt like she was being treated like a child. What she learned though was that she refused to stay down, she wants to live, she wants to experience and she wants to smile. She said wrinkles grow the most when you're frowning and she wants to keep the wrinkles off of her face. Her story was inspiring and I wrote this song from her point of view. I hope to do more with this song in the future to get it out there to raise awareness, give to a cancer charity and give some folks some hope so stay tuned and I'll see what comes of it (in the works). In the meantime, have a listen and my thanks to my friend for sharing her story. Lyrics: Verse 1 It beat me down I got up again How could this abuser almost be my friend? Because even though it hurt me so much I would descend Into a dark light couldn’t dent Cancer taught me who I am Chorus I’m not my hero but I might be yours Because although it tried I survived it’s force I smile through the pain Keepin the wrinkles from my face All the while dryin the tears off of yours To me I’m not a hero but I might be yours Verse 2 I don’t need your help but I”m glad it’s there Your love is evident and it it’s clear that you care But I don’t wanna feel like a child anymore let’s instead go for a ride and let me be 34 I’m alive let’s live some more Chorus I’m not my hero but I might be yours Because although it tried I survived it’s force I smile through the pain Keepin the wrinkles from my face All the while dryin the tears off of yours To me I’m not a hero but I might be yours Chorus You’re my hero forever more Because you were there all through this war You cried through my pain as the drugs went to my veins Holding my hand throughout every course You’re my hero forever more
Hudsy - Blue Dress
Hudsy - Blue DressThis is a song that was written as a fundraiser for my immigration to the US and my wedding. People donate money to my fund and I write them songs as quickly as I can and send them the final product. The idea is to work quickly so these are not perfect, polished works but fun songs about topics that were chosen by the people who donated. The story behind this one... The awesome lady who donated for this one told the story of a time when she got depressed after she could not fit her blue dress anymore. It was such an important dress to her and she was gutted as she threw it in the 'donate' pile. Unbeknownst to her, her husband saw it was in there and put it aside. She later could fit it and he regifted it to her. It was a testament to her husband knowing what to do and how to be there for his partner. She really loves that story and it is written from his perspective with some creative leeway taken for songwriting purposes. Both her and her husband liked the tune and I'm happy now to share it with you. I hope you enjoy :) . If you do, please share. If you'd like a song written for you and want to donate to my upcoming 'nups' #brooklynninenine please do go to... www.fundmytravel.com%2Fcampaign%2F6YxC58flV4&e=ATNAkOC5eUGWx3g6bZGXjHv9aPHwo8Q-OZBj7d05_crxoLS9gV6Z4KTSc4GElcoGmX_0G57Ibe6HB7lO Cheers! www.hudsymusic.com @hudsymusic

Hudsy - They'll Drive (fundraiser)
Hudsy - They'll Drive (fundraiser)This song is for my wedding/move to the USA fundraiser. To get a song written for you check click or copy and paste the link: https://www.fundmytravel.com/campaign/6YxC58flV4 This is a song I wrote for Vicki's daughter Juliana is now playing hockey for McKendree University. Vicki said in my initial interview to write the song that Juliana is this awesome girl who got a scholarship to play hockey in the US. She said that her daughter was tough, smart and determined. She's very proud, as she should be of her daughter. It was answer to this question though, that got the song written. I asked, "If you could describe your family in one word would would it be?" She said, "Supportive, we'd drive anywhere for her."
My LoveMy girlfriend had bipolar disorder. I started to write a song to organize my thoughts and what I found as the words flew out of me was that I loved this girl and I wished I could make her not feel pain. I wished I could pull her out of the depression, help her see not only the beauty around her but the fact that she herself was beautiful. What I found was that you always have to remember that they'll be back. They'll find heir way out the other side. You just have to hold their hand and wait. Just wait. I'm still with that girl and she still has bipolar disorder; she's my fiancé. If you suffer, or anyone you love suffers, I hope this finds you well. Don't give up, remember the love.
