ABOUT

We are looking for another singer to complement the band. Share main singing and also do backing vocals. The aim being to make the sound more varied. We do the usual pubs and occasional better gigs, so you know the money is not great there again if money is your motive you wouldn't be in a band. We do everything from Johnny Cash to Daft Punk with a couple of originals off our cds thrown in. We're based in R.C.T and we're, shall we say, an older band, but who cares, we go down well and we enjoy it. Oh, and we're also pretty good at what we do. If you think this is interesting, get in touch, let me know what songs you like to sing. We do try to avoid the obvious, sex on fire, etc. and we like doing our own version of songs where possible. At the moment we have three vocals so another one would be great. We play an average of 30-35 gigs a year so it aint like starting a new band. THE SEMANTICS were formed in 1996 as a (then) typical pub band with a bunch of mates, who had all done their time playing in different bands and gigs over the years.
The aim is still the same, which is; to play some gigs, doing mainly covers with a few selected originals, and professionally recording original material to CD as fundraisers for the Mental Health Charity M.I.N.D. The sales of albums and associated fundraisers have so far risen to over £42,000.
