We are The Half Light, an unsigned four piece band from South West London. We've banked some solid achievements - airplay on BBC6 and BBC London - and released 2 EPs, but we're looking to push on and further ourselves with a new line up now that our previous bassist has left to focus on other commitments.
We are therefore looking for a new bassist to make us complete once more and to play a part in the next part of our journey!
We're influenced by indie music over the ages (think Suede, The Smiths, Radiohead, Pixies etc) and play all of our own music (save a couple of novelty covers), so we're looking for someone who wants to be part of a band that writes and performs it's own music. Check out some of our existing material on our website - www.thehalflight. We've been likened to The Smiths, The Cure and The Strokes.
We have got an established back catalogue, including a new EP that we're waiting to release, so we would like the new member to be up for learning some of our old material so we can get gigging again quickly; however, we're keen to enter a new phase and get going again with some fresh material, so there will be plenty of scope to shape our sound and contribute to some new tunes over the next months.
We all work full time, so we're realistic about how much time anyone can dedicate to the band, but we're keen to get into a good rhythm of practising and gigging and are happy to rehearse and play in evenings and weekends. We all love our music and are a chilled out bunch, so you don't have to worry about any prima-donnas!
