I started as a drummer at secondary school, playing in school productions and local covers band, Men in Black. After a couple of years I decided to trade in my drum kit for a bass guitar and immediately felt at home with this instrument, quickly progressing to playing 5 string basses. I also went on to learn rhythm guitar and some basic keyboards in order to help his understanding of music as a whole.
I have performed with both originals and covers bands, spanning many genres from hard core thrash metal through to blues and pop.
During the 1990s, I gigged and recorded around the Herefordshire and Worcestershire area playing at many pubs and festivals. After a short hiatus a drummer friend asked me to join him in a personal music project after which I continued playing and joined a Herefordshire rock covers band The Blast.
A year or so later I joined a Killers tribute band Sam’s Town and for a while continued to play in both bands until the commitment to Sam’s Town gigs meant I had to concentrate on the Killers music. Sam’s Town played various good size festivals and The Robin. In 2021 Sam’s Town folded. After this The Blast asked me to return, I did.
Also in 2021, Bec (my wife) arranged a surprise to re-unite me and a couple of old music friends for a jam at Tower Studios, Pershore, and subsequently we decided to work together again and played our favourite music as well as writing new material. Sun Nation was formed.
Unfortunately after a few years due to a long term personal family issue for one of the members (Not Me) we couldn’t continue. Sun Nation has been indefinitely shelved. Leaving only The Blast as my main band.
In 2025 I deped for The Never Never where I was required to learn 12 original songs and be gig ready in two weeks. I successfully did this.
I have also worked as a sound engineer for a handful of events and use Cubase and Studio one for recording and mixing.
