Hi all,

I'm Sam, 29, and live in Bristol. I'm primarily an acoustic/classical fingerstyle guitar player, though I also own and play the electric guitar. I'm primarily looking to join or form an acoustic group of some description, though also open to playing electric. I've been actively playing and performing for about fifteen years now so while I'm not Tommy Emmanuel or John Petrucci (not by a long shot), I'm reasonably competent! I'd prefer to play original material.

I've got a fair amount of live experience. I played electric in a big band jazz ensemble for three years while working abroad and I've been part of a number of other bands. I've got some studio/recording experience.

I've not been in a band since I moved to Bristol last year and really miss playing with other musicians. Mostly looking to have fun, but also looking for people who'll take it seriously to produce the best music we can. I have a day job, but would love to play local gigs and festivals and make a bit of extra cash. If things take off then great!

I'm into a wide variety of music. Keen on folk and country from across the British Isles and the US, plus early/renaissance European music. I spent several years in India where I learned to play the sitar and I like western--Indian fusion styles (e.g. Anoushka Shankar), but any kind of fusion style is great. Also love rock and metal, particularly more progressive stuff (King Crimson, Yes, Dream Theater, Animals as Leaders, Meshuggah). I've recently got myself into gypsy jazz and have begun learning some Django Reinhardt solos.

So yeah, broad - I just like music. If I like it I'll play it!
