I am looking to start a White Stripes/ Garage rock covers band.

I’d place more emphasis on trying to do justice to the raw garage rock energy vibe than purely imitating, so I think being a 3-piece would be a good place to start, (guitar, drums and vocals) and we can add more if it feels right down the line. Again, not imitating so boys, girls, NB are all welcome on any combination of instruments or vocals.

The White Stripes were also known for their distinct covers so we wouldn’t necessarily be limited to sticking to the back catalogue.

Above everything I want everyone involved to have a good time so would imagine rehearsals practicing any songs any member wants to bring or even jamming new ideas.

Also open to other project ideas, so if you need a guitarist, please reach out stables.reece at g male com

About me - I've played guitar for over 15 years, I have some gigging experience as lead guitarist and backing vocals in garage rock bands. Now opting for a covers band to hopefully reduce some of the stress of the hustle that is selling tickets and finding venues that comes with original bands.

Influences

I'm a big of The White Stripe fan...obviously. Playing through their discography is my comfort food.

Mid-00's alternative rock also ranks pretty high: The Hives, Queens of the Stone Age, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Alabama Shakes, The Coral

But I listen to pretty much everything and love to pick any old song to cover. In previous bands I've covered all sorts from Arcade Fire, Royal Blood, The Cure, The Kinks, we even did a Pixie-esque cover of The Turtles Happy Together.
