ABOUT

DRUMMER REQUIRED - IMMEDIATE START

Having relucntantly said farewell to our previous drummer a vacancy has arisen for a versatile, rocking yet still swinging sticksman. We are keen to get into rehearsals and the band back on track as soon as possible as we have a likely Scottish tour from around 26th May to 4th June (all expense paid, but no fee).

You must be tight, dynamic, skilled beyond merely plodding along with rudiments, and able to rock out or swing at the appropriate times. We often stretch or shorten songs on the fly, depending on the crowd energy, so your eyes and ears must be open at all times. Names like Ginger Baker and John Bonham spring to mind, and if you're open to jazz, Elvin Jones or Art Blakey will earn you bonus points. Please see "Influences" for a better idea of where we are coming from.

With our previous drummer, we had earnt bi-monthly paid gigs at whiskey industry events, and the offer of a monthly residency at a South London venue (Tooting Tramshed). We are keen to get back to this level of work. As we all have day jobs and families, a maximum of a couple of paid gigs a month suits us.

We usually rehearse in Balham or Brixton Hill. Ideally, you should also live in the South London area or have the transport and desire to travel here.

Age/gender unimportant. Musical ability and interest in the material essential.

If this sounds like your thing, please drop us a line and direct us to some of your recordings so that we can arrange an audition.

Influences

We play material by The Doors, Cream, Black Keys, White Stripes, Ray Charles, Dr John, John Mayall's Blues Breakers, Booker T & The MGs, Queens Of The Stone Age, CTA, Johnny Kidd & The Pirates and more.

Our vocalist swaps between guitar and Hammond organ, which really helps to bolster our sound and offer up something more than bog standard pub rock. I would describe it as a mash-up of contemporary hard rock and old school British Rhythm & Blues.
