Influenced by Van Halen, Whitesnake, Led Zeppelin and Aerosmith, Walkway have created a huge buzz in just three years. Walkway’s exhilarating pace has seen them tour extensively throughout East Anglia and beyond. They have been booked solidly throughout 2009, 10 and 11 – which included shows throughout the UK and Europe.
Formed in 2008, Walkway are all about the live show experience. With distinct vocals, jaw dropping solos and solid rhythm section, Walkway bring a taste of the 70’s and 80’s rock scene back to the UK shores, but in their own, unique way. They have caused a major stir across the UK entertaining fans in a massive number of venues.
To date, Walkway have played in excess of 400 shows; averaging at 3 to 4 shows every week for the past three years. This has included pubs, clubs, parties, music competitions and festivals. They’re dedicated, in high demand, already booked for the next 12 months and highly sought after for festival appearances. Their headline appearance at The Waterfront, Norwich last year gained rave reviews and had the phone ringing off the hook with booking demands.
Recordings so far have included a single, 6 track EP, and a 4 track EP (released in September last year).
Each are sold and promoted by the band themselves with characteristic enthusiasm.
Walkway also released their first official music video in March 2012 which has gained an overwhelming response.
With over 1000 views in its first 24 hours the video has proved a massive hit with people watching from around the globe.
Finally, following high demand from fans, Walkway have booked studio time in August to record their first album.
2012 is already proving to be Walkway's biggest year yet; along with regular London shows and support for big named artists Walkway are also lined up for bigger festival performances.
In March the band played at the sell-out Legends Of Rock festival in Great Yarmouth.
Gaining rave reviews (this promting mentions on Planet Rock) and packing out both their sets with fans the band were asked to play at the Rhodes Rock music festival on the island of Rhodes (Greece) In June this year.
In July Walkway also supported The Darkness plus special guests Black Stone Cherry infront of a 6000+ crowd.
The band went down a storm with both the crowd and other bands.
FUTURE PLANS
Walkway will continue to extensively play shows around the UK and Europe and also have an open invitation to play the legendary Whiskey A Go Go bar in Hollywood, where they are in talks to support a high profile artist. The trip to LA could also see Walkway play other shows within the LA music scene.
Walkway are looking to build on this solid groundwork, and are currently seeking both management and record label assistance to progress them to the top.
