Hi all my name is Jake, i was born and grew up in Brighton though i have spent much of my life traveling overseas. I have spent 6 years hitchhiking around, New Zealand, Australia, Spain and the UK largely funding my travels through busking as well as performing in warehouses, squats, bars etc, not so much for money as much as the hell of it. I have found myself back in Brighton were due to my overwhelming discontent with the oppressive political regime and the ensuing perpetual poverty and lack of social freedom i am studying Complementary Therapies in the hope of setting up a massage business on an isolated tropical island were i will hopefully be left generally alone by such fu*kers for the rest of my life. I seek musicians of similar taste for jamming, gigs and good times. My musical preference is towards rhythmic music with a strong pulse and i have no interest in flash guitar solos and shred techniques, creatively i believe authenticity ranks far higher than technical wizardry, fancy clothes and delusional egos and i seek to convey a raw, honest expression of my inner condition through my music, not to show off or fit a scene. If you're values and taste are in line with mine and you're up for good times and artistically venting some steam i would love to hear from you.

Influences
Blues from Albert king era right up to Joe Bonamassa, not in too anything to polished though, i like blues rare. Lots of classic rock; Floyd, Zep, Doors etc. Big on post punk, The Cure, Swans, Sisters of Mercy are a fave. Partial to some of the bluesier/psychedelic end of metal, Kyuss, A Perfect Circle,Alice in Chains. Old school punk, Stooges, Patti Smith Group (LEGEND), Sex Pistols. Some southern influences, Neil Young, ZZ Top, Skynyrd.

EQUIPMENT
1980 Washburn Raven, Les Paul style Electric guitar. Best guitar i have ever owned, a bit beat up but sounds amazing. 1970 something 12 String Kasuga, Japanese acoustic Martin copy. My amp is not great, Roland cube 15X. I also have a cheap ibanez 6 string acoustic barely worth mentioning.
