In 2010 Marissa recorded her first song at the SHED studios based in North West London, in her hometown Camden Town. Here she collaborated with other Camden based artists who shared the same passion for music and helped her to develop herself as an artist.

In 2013 she then became the lead singer of the Brixton based reggae band RawFire, where she performed at the Royal Festival Hall, The Oxjam festival at The Ritzy, The Big Noise festival in Peckham’s Bussey Building, Stratford Theatre for Jimmy Ackingbola’s Monologue Slam, the iconic Bush Hall for the Little Mammoth’s Youth Music “Give a Gig” charity event, Brixton Splash 2014 Carnival and many other London venues and events.

After the band came to an end Marissa never abandoned her music, she continued by returning back to Camden to perform at different open mic night’s. In 2015 she then joined Downtown Artists in Soho where she went on to produce her first Demo CD featuring the songs “Like a Jamaican” and “Just One Night”.

Coming from a Guyanese background, Marissa’s love for Reggae and Soca is apparent in her music and she is said to always “MASH UP THE PLACE” whenever performing live and her energetic South American/Caribbean spirit always raises the roof!
