I have been involved with music my whole life, growing up in a gospel style church I played drums, keyboards, guitar and eventually started singing aged 15. I was offered a record deal aged 22, however I wasn't able at the time to follow through and take up the offer due to personal issues.
In terms of performing experience I have sung in venues all over Manchester and surrounding areas on open mic and personalised gig nights. I have performed many weddings over the last 10 years (including my own), and even have even performed as part of a band at a concert held at the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester.
My proudest musical moments to date (apart from almost being signed as a recording artist in 2011), in all honesty are numerous; I'm really proud of a lot of what I have already achieved. However there are two that do stick out as being particularly prevalent to me:-
1) - Appearing on the show 'Time2Shine', a sort of gospel version of the X Factor which is held every year and televised on Sky TV. After 1000's of entrants, I got through several rounds of the show to the semi final, narrowly missing out on the final with an unfortunate sore throat.
2) - Winning a Regional songwriting competition with the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, performing live in front of lots of important industry moguls and record company executives, having my winning song as the soundtrack for their new creative initiatives and also subsequently being shortlisted for a national songwriting award.
