Band to Join.

Hi, I'm Dave, a very experienced bass player / backing vocalist in my 40's looking for a group of like-minded, able musicians to get out and gig with. I've worked professionally in the past, and have good equipment and transport. I earn my living in a different field these days, so money isn't a big issue.

Ideally I'd like to get involved with a band doing something a little more challenging than run-of-the-mill covers, and that are working to a high standard. I'd be interested in originals and recording projects as well, as long as the intention is to play live eventually.

My musical tastes are many and varied - Aha to Zappa and all points in between basically, although if I'm honest, the likes of extreme metal or jazz don't do much for me. I started out playing in rock bands in my youth, so I have a soft spot for the likes of Thin Lizzy and Deep Purple, got into the 'new wave' through XTC and Magazine, and then discovered George Duke, Level 42 and Al Jarreau. Particular favourites are Tom Petty, Steely Dan, Foo Fighters, George Duke, XTC, Greenslade, Brand X and Bonnie Raitt. I told you it was varied.

I'm based between Woking and Guildford, but happy to travel. If you think I might fit the bill for your band or project, get in touch for a chat.
