Loose Cannons is an originals Indie Rock band based in London. Our music ranges from dark melancholy to catchy upbeat. We channel 90s rock with a modern twist and sing about the complexity, nuances, pain and joy of life’s experiences.
OUR STORY
In mid-2023, Lucy (vocals, guitar) and Ken (lead guitar) met at a jam, and with a shared taste in music and love of puns, Loose Cannons was born. Lucy's vocal melodies and lyrics and Ken's multi-instrumental skills resulted in a burst of creative songwriting, and by early 2024 we were on the hunt for the rest of the band. We're now a 5-piece, with Adnän (drums), Olivier (bass) and Olivia (keys and backing vocals) - and we all still go to the same jam!
We started gigging in May 2024, and played at The Good Mixer, The Sir Richard Steele, The Castle and The Dublin Castle, all in London. After taking the winter of 2024 off to get our new keyboardist Olivia up to speed, we recently played the Water Rats (review https://www.brightonandhovenews.org/2025/01/24/first-new-music-discovery-of-2025loose-cannons/) and The Beehive, and have a gigs at the Amersham Arms coming up. We're currently recording our debut EP.
