Living Without You
Living Without You"Wow. That intro is spine tingling eerie (and horrific). What a powerful testament. The song is well structured, melody is good, lyrics flow and the arrangement works. That slight folky hook line towards the end is a really nice twisted texture. That's a very powerful piece of music." From my 3rd year songwriting EP, this contains audio from a real argument with my (late) husband. This one should come with a health warning to be honest, but it’s an anthem for survivors of domestic violence (which includes mental abuse.) Hope you like the Easter Egg... I can laugh about it now.

Brookside
BrooksideNot about a garden centre or a soap opera! In fact I live in a house called Brookside and I wrote this while sitting by the brook in my neighbours’ garden. Sounds from me dangling my phone over the bank. I love the birdsong and the bees!

Kashmiri Song
Kashmiri SongI made this with Chris Tampsett. I decided to set a poem to music as part of my uni Individual Project, which was based on collaborative composition. The music is based on a scale used in Hindustani classical music. We wanted an Indian flavour but not cultural appropriation, and something in keeping with our usual style. Hope we got the balance right.

Another Openin' Another Show
Another Openin' Another ShowAnother song for our WI show in April 2018... Not our choice, this one... also quite tricky and fast, so once I got my head around it I recorded it for my ladies to learn.

Raindrops Keep Falling on my Head
Raindrops Keep Falling on my HeadI'll be singing this with my WI singing group, the Matfield Melody Makers. I recorded this to help them learn it - just a bit of fun and by no means perfect! (BTW I don't own the backing track but I transposed it to put it in a better key for our voices!)

Sue Lovell's Audio Tech Assignment 3 - EDM using only recorded sound.
Sue Lovell's Audio Tech Assignment 3 - EDM using only recorded sound. This is the final EDM track from my first year uni Audio Tech module. I created a dance track using all my own recorded sounds, then created a 5-layered synth pad from an extended guitar note and an arpeggiated 3-layered pad from a recorded sound (footstep on a fire escape step!) to the track. Hope you enjoy it, now it has finally uploaded! It's a bit weird, but you might like that! ;) x

Blue Moon
Blue MoonAn arrangement I worked out and recorded, having found an a cappella version of Blue Moon on YouTube. This is the third song for the WI Music Festival in October 2016. I have recorded all the parts so that the ladies can learn them, as most can't read music - yet!
-
Red, Red Wine
Red, Red WineMy à cappella arrangement of the Neil Diamond-penned UB40 classic! Again, written for the Matfield Melody Makers for a WI music festival.
-
Nights In White Satin
Nights In White SatinMy arrangement of Nights in White Satin for my WI Choir. I've bounced each part so the singers can learn it easily. I know it's not perfect, but I'm pretty pleased with it!

A New England
A New EnglandWe were asked to write a creative cover of a well-known song in any genre different to the original. For some reason I chose country, not knowing anything about the genre, except that my tutor plays it! It's OK, but I could have done better with a different genre. I programmed all the instruments and obviously the vocals are all me!
