ABOUT

George Krethlow Shaw developed a love of drums and all things percussion from the age of 11, first cutting his teeth on punk, pop and rock and then developing his love of improvisation, funk and jazz. Known for being creative, reliable, flexible and with a high technical skill level George has studied drums full time at music college since the age of 16. In 2018 George achieved a First Class, BA (Hons) Popular Music, Degree at UCC (Essex University) specialising in the area of performance both live and in the studio.

George's eclectic style enables him to not only write and create original music with his instrumental band RAZ (Jazz, Funk, Rock, fusion) (reaching the finals of Essex Undiscovered 2017) and on an individual basis, but also to work: in the recording studios, live as a session musician (performing with bands such as: Breeze and the rewine and leyline pass), on short film work, cover bands (First principles, Winning the KLC factor competition 2019) and writing with singer song writers (Poppy Scarlett).

George has performed at numerous venues and Festivals, such as; The Colchester Arts Centre Jazz club, The Brewhouse Colchester, Luna in Leytonstone East London, Number Six bar Camden, Smoke house Ipswich, Smoke and Fire festival, Kelvedon Community festival etc.

Currently based in Essex with easy access to London it is George’s aim to provide peace of mind to those musicians needing:
• online session work
• studio sessions
• live performance
• composition.
