ABOUT

Drummer playing in three piece instrumental originals Essex band JTJ. I've started again after taking a five year break in 2017. Studio rehearsals, writing and recording original material only. Not currently looking for other projects.

Background: I started playing drums in 1990. I consider myself quite versatile, with lots of experience playing different styles with many other musicians, constantly gigging (covers and originals) since 1991, plus fill-in gigs, teaching drums, attending blues jams, constant studio rehearsals and even a year as house drummer for a weekly open mic night, playing all styles.

Once I started gigging, initially it was mostly in originals bands with the occasional cover. After fifteen years I ended up doing the covers/tribute band thing for a further ten years before eventually having a five year break. Now I'm back, and happy to be playing originals again, with an old friend and my youngest son. No desire/ plans to gig, just jamming/ writing and rehearsing our own songs ready for recording.

Roland TD-02K electric kit for home practice/ recording only. I use Card Trick Studio's house kits/ cymbals when playing with JTJ. I own various bits of recording equipment, but I'm currently without an acoustic kit, so I couldn't gig even if I wanted to!
