Hi Folks
My name is Giles and I'm a Baritone Singer and Songwriter.
However, I am not one of those folky type Guitar in hand writers or Singers, I am what is known in the business as a Crooner. I can sing like Tony Bennett, Vic Damone or Frank Sinatra. My original material is very original indeed and I have begun recording it.
I've got three things to mention here, which in no particular order are:
1) I teach singing. I've studied all styles from Opera to Jazz and had lessons with quite a number of different teachers ranging from the excellent to the truly awful! I have studied Alexander Technique and incorporate it in my teaching methid. I'm happy to coach beginners and backing singers and just have a few lessons if that's all that's needed to get a basic technique and interpretative style.
2) I am looking for an Accompanist on the Piano and/or Electronic keyboards for Gigs and Recording. This would primarily be for recording ( and performing my original material but I can also do all the Sinatra stuff and the whole swing/ballad/easy/bossa nova repertoire. I prefer to cover guys like Englebert, Julio Iglesias, Perry Como, Johnny Mathis, Barry Manilow, Jack Jones, Al Martino and the like. Virtually no one does that material these days and there are some wonderful songs in there...
3) 'My goal is to get a 7+ piece band together with brass and strings to host a number of different singers and do high class Cabaret gigs.
