ABOUT

We're an all-girl band, consisting of Bex (vocals and electric ukulele), Lorna (piano and vocals) and Jules (guitar and vocals). Beyond the Dawn’s sound is a distinct mix of genres - inspired by various female artists - that defies easy categorisation. It is feminist, alternative music which draws on riot grrrl punk's DIY attitude and politics and combines it with the theatrical flair of stage musicals and dark cabaret. The music is political, often humorous, and has been described by some audience members as 'ukulele punk' and 'choral punk'. We're currently working on an EP and performing in Nottingham.

We're looking for a female to play drums. Backing vocals would be an added bonus but are not a requirement. Bex was playing percussion for a while but settled on electric uke and lead vocals. We practice mostly on Sundays. To contact us, visit page or our website:
