ABOUT

Alfie & Gene is a collaboration between drummer Alfie Tammaro and bassist Gene Taylor. We play together as a rhythm section with many different artists across several styles.

We both have many years of live and studio experience, we’ve played with artists such as; The Charlatans, Glasvegas, Jamiroquay, Gilberto Gil, The Horrors, The Divine Comedy, SCUM and worked with many great british producers such as Ed Buller, Mark Wallis, Teo Miller, Mark Waterman and performed on stages such as Glastonbury, The London Astoria, Leeds and Reading Festival, Manchester Academy, O2 Academy Leeds and many more.

We've developed an intuitive ability to know what a song needs, and what an artists wants and
This includes arranging, producing and writing music. We start from the foundations of instruments and vocals in the rehearsal room and always work with both a musical and commercial awareness.

Together, we have created live arrangements for several artists, including adapting electronic music for a dynamic live sound, and combining backing tracks with full live band.

Influences

We both come from different backgrounds but we both have a very open mind and appreciate every type and style of music.
Also we have been very lucky to play from the beginning of our carrier all sort of music genres with many different artists and bands gaining a lot of experience, giving to us now the ability to also arrange, write and produce music.

EQUIPMENT

We have our own private studio in north London, is a fully equipped rehearsal and recording space facility.
We always tent to work at our studio with every artist that we play with as we realised that is always better to work in a comfortable environment where there isn't any stress and wasting of time in setting the room up and where the sound is good every time.
