ABOUT

I started playing piano when I was 6 and was classically trained up to Grade 8 ABRSM at the age of 17. In the past 6 years, I have applied that technical and theoretical grounding to composition, improvisation and collaboration, ultimately developing a pop 'stride-piano', or jumping left-hand technique alongside smooth bluesy, syncopated riffs in the right hand.

I came into singing when I was 20 and cultivated a distinctive, rich bluesy tone in the upper registers (A3 - B4). Since then I've been working on more soulful baritone elements to lead the songs up to those points.

Compositionally, I write pop songs that are derived from different genres, essentially an original take on what Post Modern Jukebox is currently doing with covers.
