Allo – I’m Tom Gene: Guitar player, occasional drummist, maker of exemplary guitar faces and all around nice bloke who loves pluckin’ country music. Based in South UK (Bristol, Portsmouth, London) and available for work UK-Wide!
I’m lucky enough to work with many artists, mainly focused on country guitar playing for UK based country acts. Most recently this has seen me hit the festival season (major highlight being Country2Country 2018) with artists such as Jeannine Barry, Máiréad, Becky Lawrence, and Ruby Donadel. I also regularly plays soul and funk guitar with Bath based soul R&B artist ‘Clyve‘. In addition to an ever growing list of original artists, I maintain a large portfolio of cover songs for use in the UK’s top function bands and am a regular dep both independently and through Alive network and DK management.
“Amazing! Good rapport with our guests who danced the whole night. Really nice guys who made sure our wedding was a night to remember! Would highly recommend them for any wedding or party! Thank you so much for making our wedding so special.”

Thunder CountryWild thumping Country instrumental inspired by cowboys, cowgirls, car chases liquor and bar fights. And it aint country without a Banjo. Don’t take it too seriously and it’s a ton of boot stompin’ barn dancin’ yee hawin’ fun!
Velvety Velvet Noir Jazzy Jazz
Velvety Velvet Noir Jazzy JazzA slow, smooth and relaxed Jazz quartet led by a soulful saxophone melody line. A small break for the minor bridge creates some tension and interest before returning to the main melody to finish. Velvety, like velvety velvet. But smoother, like Velvet Noir. Like Velvety Velvet Noir Jazz.
Mountain Lake Breath
Mountain Lake BreathWoodwind based ambient meditation / spa / yoga track. A soft woodwind undertone drenches delicious soft picked arpeggios on a nylon stringed guitar. A relaxing flute disperses a melody in answer, to mimic the singing of the birds, animals and water around a crystal clear mountain lake.
Breaking BluesInspired by the TV Drama Series Breaking Bad, this ambient and tense pulsating Rock Riff is driven by Latin American style percussion for the first half. The hypnotic chords build to a mid point break, and explode into a big dramatic rock-style ambience that would suit any gritty TV montage.
K Rock Arcadia
K Rock ArcadiaInspired by K-rock style arcade game themes, this guitar driven Final Fantasy-esque number opens with a pulsating riff. The chorus is lined with quick synth melodies and opens up into a rocking guitar solo. Ideal for computer game & cartoon style action sequences.
Dreamy Surf Sunset
Dreamy Surf SunsetThis reverb drenched Hawaiian surf inspired number bobs along creating a super chilled out vibe. Imagine waves lapping at the tropical sands, the fading light, the warmth of the air, the cool of the breeze and the peace and serenity.
The Intolerable Funk Manoeuvre
The Intolerable Funk ManoeuvreOpening with some classic pop funk that wouldn’t be out of place in one of the American Pie franchise, this youthful energetic bop drives along into a country inspired chorus break. The real surprise comes towards the end as the sun goes down, with a breakdown into 70s inspired synth DISCO DISCO DISCO.
The Swing Is Not Enough
The Swing Is Not EnoughThe track begins with suspense. An offbeat guitar riff with diminished stabs creates a feeling of unease that builds throughout the first minute. Then the band kick in with a Bond inspired swing with trumpets blaring a bluesy melody line before dissolving back into building tension.
Cool Kitten Crawl
Cool Kitten CrawlA cool descending minor vibe that heads into a relative major bridge. The melody is played between Saxophone and Piano. Then, our cool kitty spots a mouse and the chase is on! Double time explodes with a chase between Sax and Piano (Cat and Mouse) until 'cool' is restored. Homage to the stray cats.
Skanky Concrete Skyline
Skanky Concrete SkylineMoody guitar chords ring out over an urban drum beat as suspense builds. Strings build the feeling of unease. A grey sky setting over an equally grey council estate in a dreary run down city centre. Drama unfolds, a murder, perhaps a gang related killing. the chase is on.
Barkthedog RoadThis gravelly barking guitar riff drives along supported by a thumping bass line, overlaid with singing slide guitar that combine to give a sense of travel and adventure. The Bridge explodes into a Thin Lizzy inspired melodic dual guitar break before returning to the main riff to finish.
