Hi, I'm an experienced guitarist and mandolinist looking for a versatile male vocalist who can sing in Italian and English.
I currently perform as a solo artist, playing some beautiful Italian traditional music with my mandolin and guitar, using backing tracks which gives an authentic full sound like a traditional Italian band.
I used to manage and play guitar in a great covers band a few years back, that specialised in performing a mixture of traditional and popular Italian music, as well as popular English music.
Due to family commitments, I needed to take some time out, but am now looking to get the show back on the road! My aim is to re-create a great UK covers band that caters for both the Italian community living in the UK and anyone else that simply loves to hear Italian music, intertwined with great English songs too!
The repertoire I have in mind is a mix of popular songs (including some instrumentals) that have stood the test of time and are instantly recognisable.
The Italian repertoire would be made up of popular Italian standards, some traditional folk music (tarantella, waltz, tango, bossa-nova) and some famous theme tunes from film soundtracks.
The English repertoire would comprise a variety of popular covers, including pop, swing (Dean Martin, Michael Buble etc) and some melodic jazz classics.
I've got midi backing tracks and equipment, so happy to consider starting out as a duo. Ideally, I'd be looking to add a keyboard player to make a trio - with potential going forward to add bass and drums.
The aim of the band is to perform live at various functions in the London and home counties area. e.g. weddings, dances, parties etc.
I am based in Watford situated in Hertfordshire, bordering North West London and have my own rehearsal facilities.
