ABOUT
Formed by Guitarist/Singer Jon Mayson SOUL DISTINCTION is a seven piece band consisting of a male and female Vocals, Guitar, Keyboards, Bass, Drums two Saxophones & trumpet.
The band performs Classic Soul & Motown tracks from the 60s and 70s plus a few other tunes that fit into that style of memorable popular music.
ALL SOULED OUT who played around the North East of England, and occasionally further a field, built up a large following & when this band split up a few years ago members went onto other things. CHICAGO JOE was one and SOUL DISTINCTION was another. This band is building on the reputation of the old band & giving a new lease of life to the repertoire. Harmony vocals & virtuoso instrumentalists result in a polished and vibrant feel with some excellent solos & instrumental sections to thrill & excite audiences.
Soul Distinction has been busy playing at weddings and private functions. As well as this the band has been building a good reputation at pubs and clubs.
The ever growing set list includes classics by Marvin Gaye, Martha and the Vandellas, Diana Ross and the Supremes, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder and Blues Brothers and The Commitments tracks all played in their distinctive style.
