My band name is GrooveRat. We are 3 piece, playing covers of modern dirty blues rock (think Black Keys, Heavy Heavy Hearts, 22-20s, Moreland and Arbuckle, Gary Clark Jr etc.), plus a few odd classics and the occasional self-penned number. Our drummer of the last 2 years has decided to quit due to a shoulder injury, so we are now looking for an experienced drummer who is smart enough to let the song dictate the groove, but with the chops to make tricky rhythms sound simple. If you can play like a cross between Patrick Carney and Topper Headon, that would be great (aaah, who am I kidding? I don't think we'll ever get that lucky - but if you can keep a solid 4/4 down, while also being able to do some blues shuffle stuff and the occasional 3/4, you will be fine). We are based in St Neots Cambridgeshire, we have some great songs, our own rehearsal space, transport and gigs waiting. We are all on the wrong side of 40, but don't let that put you off - we don't play the typical old-fart dad-rock!
