Hey, I’m a 48-year-old musician based locally and missing playing music. I’ve played bass in original bands over the years, and while I still love creating new music, I’m now more into the idea of doing something along the likes of covers.
I’m not looking to be the front singer, but I can sing a bit . I’ve been on the lookout for a cover band, but haven’t found anything that quite fits — a lot of the local stuff seems to lean more towards classic rock or the usual indie/Oasis-heavy sets. That’s cool, but not really my vibe.
Musically I’m into alternative and leftfield rock from the '80s, '90s and beyond — bands like:
Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots, The Smashing Pumpkins, Alice in Chains, R.E.M., Dinosaur Jr, Pixies, Suede, Helmet, Mansun, Soundgarden, Nirvana, Queens of the Stone Age, Counting Crows, Bowie, Rolling Stones, Beatles, Dead Kennedys, Green Day, Nine Inch Nails, PJ Harvey, Therapy?, Lemonheads, Jane’s Addiction, Depeche Mode, Gaslight Anthem, Sisters of Mercy, Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds — that kind of thing.
I’m open-minded and collaborative — not looking to take over, just want to create something that blends everyone’s tastes and keeps it enjoyable. Ideally looking for like-minded folks who want to play some great songs we grew up loving, maybe do a few low-key gigs, maybe not. No pressure, just passion.
