I'm part of a street protest band, The Agitators. We are all committed to supporting climate change protests and generally play at events organised by Extinction Rebellion, Just Stop Oil, Surfers Against Sewage and similar in the Brighton, Shoreham, Worthing area. We sometimes have indoor gigs too. We don't accept payment for playing. We consist of trumpet, alto sax, tenor sax, tuba, 2 acoustic guitars, banjo and drums and 2 vocalists. We range in ability and play a mixture of New Orleans funeral band music, eg St James Infirmary, Basin Street, St Louis Blues and more contemporary tunes which we have set new words re claimate change to. We practise every other Wednesday in Shoreham. We are looking for any lead instruments, preferably brass or woodwind as we are not always all available at the same time. A commitment to climate change and left-wing politics is more important than virtuosity on your instrument!
