SEEKING
Bass Guitar, Other Percussion, Other, Upright bass.ABOUT
We make pictures in sound together. Mostly original compositions, some ambient, some jazz, some bluesy.
We play from the heart, feeling our way.
We want a bass player and a percussionist with a wide spectrum of sounds in their repertoire, sometimes soundscape, sometimes close to what a kit player would do.
If you're flexible, able to learn, and able to offer your own ideas, get in touch and.

Big Uncle
Big UncleThe warm nurturing fantasy uncle who would always have a coin or a present or a game to play when he visited. Everyone needs a Big Uncle in their life. Inspired by the playing of Abdullah Ibrahim.

Elegy for Tom
Elegy for TomInspired by the sudden death of an old friend the other side of the world, this piece is probably more about my own feelings than about him.

If only
If onlyThis wistful tune could only have one name. When it was given words 20 years later for Sandy to sing in UltraBeige, the title seemed even more fitting.

Weaving a life
Weaving a lifeThe process of working with the warp and weft of feelings, history, wounds, desires and longings, is like weaving fabric to make the cloth of the life I want. Here the elements are represented by notes weaving amongst each other.

Blackbird 18.4.20
Blackbird 18.4.20The McCartney classic song. Much of the harmonisation is not my own, but I've tweaked various bits and reworked it.

Becalmed 18.4.20Imagine yourself adrift in a dead calm sea, no sign of land. Or be-calmed as in chilled out.

Dan the man 18.4.20
Dan the man 18.4.20This could be called 'Danny Boy grows up': a more mature and complex reworking of the famous Scottish song, preluded by his early infancy which is a more realistic expression of the feelings of an infant than the usual version of the Brahms lullaby.

Birdflight 18.4.20
Birdflight 18.4.20Winter murmurations of birds in still air and flying down to a small harbour, the occasional clanking of boat masts. Moving into spring then summer for a brighter climax.

Polly 18.4.20
Polly 18.4.20This was originally an improvisation after hearing of the death of the inspirational Polly Higgins, who realised that 'What the earth needs is a good lawyer', and started the campaign to make Ecocide an internationally-recognised crime.
