Looking for musicians in the Greater Manchester area who'd like to do a heavy original band. I like a broad range of punk and metal but particularly would be interested in doing something like......
Crust punk - I like Tragedy, Wolfbrigade, From Ashes Rise, Disfear, Doom, Kontrovers, Baptists, Fredag Den 13:e etc - would be up for something simple and straightahead or something more at the melodic end of the crust spectrum
Heavy bleak sludge and doom in the style of Burning Witch, Grief, Khanate etc. Not interested in doing something "groovy" or on the stoner/southern rock end of things, sorry. Though if someone were into doing trad doom like Pentagram or Reverend Bizarre that would probably be my thing.
Noise rock like Unsane, Jesus Lizard, Today Is The Day, KEN Mode etc. Something angular and abrasive anyway.
Just some ideas. Get in touch if any sound of these sound like your bag. Would prefer to practice in Bolton or the north side of Greater Manchester but could travel for the right people - Wigan or Preston way are possibilities.
I have decent equipment that's ready to gig and a car. I've played in a few bands over the years, I'm not a virtuoso guitarist and have no interest in doing solos, but I'm alright for this sort of stuff. Cheers!
