ABOUT

I'm an experienced bass player who can do some backing vocals. I don't take myself too seriously but love playing and gigging.
I play just about every day but enjoy playing alongside other musicians.
I have a full time job so I'm not looking to make music a career (not at my age!)
I'm currently working with a band called WAREHOUSE. We are a classic rock/blues cover band who play many classic rock tracks from across the decades.

Influences

My earliest influences, or should I say music I liked to listen to were the Beatles, Marc Bolan and T-Rex, The Sweet and a little Jimi Hendrix. Later I started to listen to Pink Floyd, Genesis and Yes. My musical influences changed when I went to college in the late 70's where I was introduced to Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Rush and then AC/DC and Thin Lizzy. It was these later bands that I taught myself to play bass to. I did study music for a while and have had lessons on the piano, trumpet and violin when I was a kid and did learn to read music, however, I found my best asset to learn music quickly were my ears, so when I took up the bass I learned everything by ear and have done so ever since.

I find I enjoy many other bands and artist like Bon Jovi and Bryan Adams, Stereophonics, Oasis, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Foo Fighters, Nickelback, The Killers and Muse. If the mood takes me then Evanescence and linkin Park will get an airing.
I am partial to a bit of country and enjoy artist like Brad Paisley and Keith Urban, although I think I will always have a soft spot for Johnny Cash.
On early mornings or very late nights you might catch me listening to Classical or Opera.

There are many more artists bands and gendre's that I like to listen to and play to, but there are far to many to list. lets just say I'm willing to have a bash at just about anything!
