ABOUT

Hey everyone,

I'm 27yo, male and I live in South London. Primarily I'm a cellist and I currently use an electric 5-string instrument with gives me the combined range of a conventional cello and violin.

I'm already in a really fun band called South Estate (you can see a nice little acoustic video of us here: https://youtu.be/C3Oaz6KCtws) and don't plan to leave it, but I'm keen for a new project with a smaller group of musicians. I'm very open to other ideas, but I basically have in mind a laid-back acoustic folksy duo or maybe trio where everyone sings and plays at least one instrument.

I imagine we'd start by putting together some interesting and unique covers, but I'm very willing to also work on some original material a little down the road once we've settled on a group sound. I don't have one right now, but I'd love to invest in a quality loop pedal that would allow me to use all my instruments together even when playing live. I actually also have grade 8 on the piano, but sadly I don't own one so I'm very rusty there.

I'd be interested in hearing from any talented musician out there who thinks they might complement me. Ideally I'd love to have at least one female vocal as I find my voice works best alongside that. And a really excellent acoustic guitarist would be great - I can play well enough but it's not my main thing. Plus if you live south that's obviously a bonus but not a deal breaker.

I'd want to work pretty hard on this and progress quickly, so we'd be meeting at least once a week and practicing independently in between. My current band has good links with music promoters around London, so I'm confident I could help get us some fun gigs if we can get to that point.

Do give me shout if you think this could work for you. My email is thomasbaylem@ and that's the best way to reach me.

Cheers,
Tom
