ABOUT

The Naked Lights is an English alternative group formed in London in 2009 by Benjie Smith. Initially featuring ex-members of Reverend and The Makers, Benjie moved back home to a coastal town in North Norfolk in 2012 to complete the self-titled debut album.

'The Naked Lights' was released on the band's DIY label 'Woah Yeah! Records' in summer 2015 and subsequently on Canadian label 'Brothers and Sisters Records' (run by former Reverend and The Makers' guitarist, Tom Jarvis) in October 2015.

In 2017, The Naked Lights released 'The Fear of a Morning', mixed by Brighton's Tim Bidwell (Lucy Rose, Matthew and The Atlas) on Woah Yeah! Records. Lyrically, it incorporated stories of excess and musically pushed the band further into the world of samples and electronica.

The band are a key part of the flourishing Norwich music scene, receiving regular radio play on the BBC Radio Norfolk Introducing show over the past three years, featuring a live slot on the BBC Introducing stage at 2017's Norwich Lord Mayor Celebration Festival. The Naked Lights have played numerous venues in Norwich, supporting the likes of The Bluetones at The Waterfront and Dub Pistols headline slot at Trunchonbury Festival 2017.
