The Tale of James Turner - Slow Roasted Duck
The Tale of James Turner - Slow Roasted Duck Year: 2007 Album: Time & Tide Melt The Snowman! Genre: Folk
This is the band playing a song that I wrote about the death of a 24 year old Marine called James Turner, during the sinking of the H.M.S Eurydice in 1878. The tale was taken from Gay Baldwins' book 'More Ghosts of the Isle of Wight'. My original version is from the mentioned Album! 'Thanks' Gay, for the story - Andy

Calm/Matty Groves/Drowsy Maggie - Slow Roasted Duck
Calm/Matty Groves/Drowsy Maggie - Slow Roasted Duck Year: 2007 Genre: Folk
A good old traditional english punk/rock folk song, full of adultery, betrayal, dueling & murder. Enough to shame the writers of Eastenders!! Trad tune on the end, self penned piece called 'Calm Before The Storm' as an intro - Andy

Against the Run of Play (Live) - Slow Roasted Duck
Against the Run of Play (Live) - Slow Roasted Duck Year: 2007 Album: Between the Lines Genre: Folk
Recorded live at 'Westo Festo' on 11th Aug 2007, another 'home-penned' song, this time by John. The original of this appears on the Album mentioned. When we recorded the original, I played a 3 part harmony guitar solo, a'la Brian May. When we do it as a band, Jo & myself share the solo, with her playing the second part of the solo as 1 harmony piece, & me playing a slightly different harmony piece to accompany. You must forgive the sound man fading out John's vocals at beginning of the 3rd verse, he has since been electrocuted, shot, hung, drawn, quartered & suspended from a yard arm by his testicles!! - Andy
