ABOUT

The Clarions, a three-piece rock/alternative rock band from North East England, first started gigging as a duo in late 2014. They developed their own sound over the following year, a unique blend of alternative and traditional rock. Think Velvet Underground meets Patti Smith, with nods to Nick Cave and Galaxie 500! Adam joined the group in early 2016 bringing the final dimension to The Clarions' music.

The Clarions have performed across the North East and in London with promoter Absent Kelly. 2016 saw the band playing at the Surf Cafe Primavera Festival; five gigs at The Cluny (one of the main music venues in the region), including a headline gig as well as supporting The Filthy Tongues and Mik Artistik’s Ego Trip; and two gigs for the Oxjam Festival.

Their debut EP, 'Avoid Your Future Self', was released in April 2016, with a launch party at a packed Cluny2 in Newcastle to celebrate. Two tracks from the EP have been played on BBC Introducing North East, and the EP got a great review in NE Volume magazine.
