We're an original Alt/Indie/Punk band but it's more than that too.
We mash genres and bring in elements from wherever we can. So far
Ska/Jazz/Spoken word/Baroque/Lindy hop/Soul/Shuffle have all made little dents in the template. We need a drummer who is confident enough to be playful with all these elements while still sounding like themsilf.
Age / gender / race are not important
Sense of humour and adventure are.

My Jazzy Valentine
My Jazzy ValentineWell I don't like to see you crying but when you are I will be by your side I will stay close to you 'til your grey sky turns blue and I can love to see you smiling I'll always be on your team to get through you they've gotta get through me before it's begun we've already won no they ain't gonna take you from me And you said “Wipe that smirk off You look stupid” Well that’s just the way my face is I cross my t’s and I cross my eyes My dots join when the sun shines We could save one another No I’ll never let you suffer We could save one another now And then we’ll just go out and show the whole world how Well I don't like to see you crying but when you are I will be by your side I will stay close to you 'til your grey sky turns blue and I can love to see you smiling We’re not always on the same page but we’re gonna be OK in mid February or a date that don’t mean a thing I will love you exactly the same And you said “Shut your mouth you sound absurd” Well that’s just the way my brain works You roll your eyes and you cross your arms Like you’re impervious to my charms We could save one another No I’ll never let you suffer We could save one another now And then we’ll just go out and show the whole world how
Gingers OR We Ain't Got No Souls
Gingers OR We Ain't Got No SoulsThis old voice just can't hit that note I try to climb but it's too high to go And I'm trying baby But I ain't got no soul And I like to claim that I'm not scared to die I'm scared not to live I'll give anything a try There's a piece of the puzzle that I cannot solve And I know I'm in trouble 'cause I ain't got no soul I'm hoping that everyday I can be brave it ain't gonna matter when I'm in my grave 'Cause I ain't got no soul It weren't the devil of that I am sure it weren't God and it weren't Santa Clause I didn't sell it to anyone it wasn't taken from me at the barrel of a gun If I had one at all it went piece by piece Day by day, week by week Now I ain't got no soul You call it purpose but I say it's worthless to anthropomorphise the world I'd like to mention that there's no intentions there's just what is and what works I know you've noticed that there's correlation between the timing of your smile and mine But don't go jumping to the conclusion causalities easy to find We ain't got no souls and we ain't got control We ain't got no souls and we ain't got control We ain't got no souls and we ain't got control This old voice just can't hit that note I try to climb but it's too high to go And I'm trying baby But I ain't got no soul
David DimblebyThe Amber Bugs - David Dimbleby Recorded to analogue Tape @ Tilehouse Studios Words and Music by The Amber Bugs Guitar & Vocals: Ben Kelly Bass & Vocals: Teresa Kelly Drums & Vocals: Jon Pritchard Trumpets: Avelia Moisey & Brant Tilds Trombone: Hakan Kilman Sound Engineer: Luke Oldfield Lyrics: Welcome everyone to tonight’s debate I’ve got a feeling that something is going to break We’ve got some bleeding hearts out here on my left And then a racist tells you he’s talking common sense It’s not common sense I’m the chair, respect my suit and tie I’m so impartial I don’t come here to take sides I’m adding nothing, I’m taking nothing away While the masters of division are multiplying again We’re still playing their games... they go Here are some words that the world’s been waiting Here are some words that the world’s been waiting Here are some words that the world’s been waiting for.. It’s alright it really is No it’s not But we might as well act like it ‘Cause you know being a realist Well it ain’t really gonna help with anything It’s alright it really is Kim jong un’s got a nuclear warhead It’s ok he’s just posturing He’s measuring his nob but we’ve got a bigger one Ladies and gentlemen now you’re all vexed up Let’s take a question from that shifty guy at the back On today’s front page there’s something I oppose There’s no substance in his question the substance is all in his nose And that’s why our panel seem to know exactly what he’s talking about. Now Calm Down, don’t you talk over me I’ll point my pen at you I’m David Dimbleby This is my circus and you, you are my clowns So Speak when your spoken to but right now shut up and sit down It’s all gone wrong it really has Come on mate, you’ve gotta put a smile on it Nah, you know being a pessimist Well it might just help us identify a problem before it occurs It’s all gone wrong it really has Help us Jesus or Buddha or Superman ‘Cause you know being a Cartoonist You can pull out a truth you won’t see in a photograph It’s alright it really is We’ve got to bomb the hell out of something ‘Cause you know being a pacafist Well that won’t make anyone rich Well we’ve not really got to the bottom or frankly agreed about anything but we’re out of time so you know, roll the credits. Next time we’ll be discussing the existential status of the soul, specifically in relation to gingers. Tune in the to find out more when we’ll be coming at you from Canterbury where our audience think they’re better than you. I’m inclined to agree.

Spotted SuitcaseThere’s a bird on a branch, a man on a wire there’s a reoccurring chance the whole world could expire and there’s a girl with a suitcase and her head in the clouds and when she looks at that bird she thinks what’s keeping him down You know if I had those wings I’d be flying all day and what use is this suitcase if I can’t get away and then she looks in the mirror and says “my god that’s me it’s time that I was Free” That man on the wire he is skilled and he is brave he knows the critical cost of a minute mistake he goes forwards and backwards but not side to side and in that single dimension he is so alive and he takes that perspective through his whole enlightened day he is free and he is saved That bird on the branch is looking down at the girl and from his high up position he is king of the world but on dark winters night when it’s cold in his tree he doesn’t look through her window and say I wish that was me he knows that freedom's not real it’s just a way to feel maturity’s for cheese, and life’s a ferris wheel so to answer the question that is poised on her lips he’s happy where he is
The GamblerI've been a gambler most of my life but I'm not bust yet and if I double up four or five times I'll be set it's time that I made a statement, I'm short stacked but not phased. and I'm big blind and impatient , so I'll raise raise, raise, raise. so turn it over let's see the number and the colour and the shape I need hearts It came in. how's my luck? played for. and got. now it's all on the river, I'll walk on the water I'm all in it's sink... or swim. then you told me to roll up my sleeve, I'm not cheating I swear the cards are just falling for me.. tonight tonight's my night
