ABOUT

Drawing inspiration from songwriters and blues legends in equal measure, The Thinking Men cite Tom Waits, The Doors, Lou Reed, Bob Dylan and Muddy Waters amongst their influences. The band’s lyrics centre on tales of philosophy, history and nature, marking the quartet as thoughtful songwriters as well as established musicians.

2011 has seen them tour independently all over Europe, busking for their supper and playing live to hundreds of onlookers at shows in locations as far off as Serbia and Macedonia. Hailing from Norwich, here in the UK, The Thinking Men have already played at packed out shows in venues such as The Bicycle Shop and Norwich Puppet Theatre.

November saw the band self-release their debut EP ‘Mirror Test’, which is available to download from their website, and May 1st 2012 saw the release of their brand new single ‘Days Like This’ – think Tom Waits covering a Johnny Cash classic and you might be half way there. They have recently been playing some of the big venues in Norwich such as, Norwich Art Centre and Open. They will be appearing at Folk East, which is hosting some big acts such as Bellowhead and Seth Lakeman, and they will be supporting Lee Southell (the lead singer of the Coral), in Lincolnshire.

We would like the drummer in our band to have experience of playing in other bands and live shows. They must be confident in their ability and an all around competent player.

We are looking for a drummer, who wants to give 100% to the band and the music we create and play. The drummer who joins the band has to want to do music as a career and put everything they have into it, as we want to do this for a living in the future. We need the band to be a strong unit and have the vision and ethos that is needed to drive it forward.

We're going places!!!
