The Round Window is a band from Colchester, Essex. Our debut album was released on 30th September 2022. The album can be listened to or purchased at:

We play a blend of melodic rock that draws from a wide variety of influences and that focuses on songs and atmosphere. Our second album was released on 8th December 2023.

We are looking to recruit a new lead guitarist and a bass player.

We have released two albums to date and are about to begin work on preparing songs for a third. We play rock music that is strongly and widely influenced by classic, progressive and melodic rock. We are looking to push our sound in a slightly different direction for album three and, as a result, need a guitar player who is an exceptionally creative rhythm player, capable of delivering multiple layers in a studio environment and who is also able to compose melodic solos and lead lines. Songwriting ability is a bonus as we’re happy to diversify our sound and repertoire with contributions. The kind of player we’re looking for would be in the mould of David Gilmour, Dave Gregory, Steve Hackett and Steve Rothery.

We are also looking for a bass player who can add to the sound and work on delivering solid, melodic and intricate bass lines that match the material.

We are located in Essex and while living locally would be beneficial it is far from essential - we rehearse in and around the Colchester area. Ability to record at home is essential in developing demos.

Enthusiasm and a positive outlook are crucial personal characteristics. We are highly committed to making studio material of the highest quality.

We have one confirmed live date in 2024 and another tentative offer in 2025, with feelers out for more.

Influences

Wide and varied. Our music is influenced by classic rock & prog as well as contemporary music from across the rock spectrum.

We take an open approach to songwriting and try not to work to a set formula. Album number three is heading into a slightly darker direction with influences creeping in from prog/rock crossover artists like Marillion, Peter Gabriel and Steven Wilson.
