The original line-up of Smashed formed in 1996 and built a robust set compiling of cover-versions of modern and classic rock songs including material by Metallica, Megadeth, GNR and Thin Lizzy; upto more modern commercial material including the Stereophonics, Bush, Green Day and loads more I can't even remember now.

Over the following years the band played all over the Midlands building a fan-base and reputation in venues to secure repeat bookings.

Smashed also established a strong reputation in the Robin Hood Venues in Brierley Hill and Bilston; supporting established Tribute acts that could guarantee a wider exposure. It was at this point where original material entered the set.

Demo CD's were recorded compiling of 10-15 tracks over time and generated further exposure for Smashed in various 'Battle of the Bands' events; where finalist positions were secured for three consecutive years. The last event was sponsored by Beacon FM and gave Smashed the opportunity to play the Civic Hall (Wolverhampton) and gain radio air-time; playing two original songs featured in the set list for the event.

Changes in the bands' line-up over the past 3-4 years have affected the overall presence on the music scene. Smashed have used the time away from the gig-circuit to re-generate the approach, style and set-up of the band, coupled with a new, harder and dirtier set of material.

Smashed re-emerged to kick-ass on the music scene and played at the Gosta Green (Aston), The Custard Factory (Birmingham Central), Actress & Bishop (Central Birmingham) & back in June, we came 2nd in the West Midlands heat of the Emergenza Worldwide Unsigned Competition the Barfly (B`ham).

Smashed parted company with the previous lead singer and are now looking for someone to make 2007 the year for us. We have an open writing style and a dynamic and energetic stage presence.
