Trying to create a band playing covers, modern songs in the style of ska, reggae, funk, soul, etc.
It's been done before I know but it's the kind of thing people in bars and fields really get into. The goal would be to strip songs down and work out our own way of playing them. Get a set together and get out playing without the hassle of songwriting.
We have a few people ready to have a have a jam but it would be good to have a singer or singers on board first. Some idea of the genres would be great but not essential. Mainly a bit of energy, a willingness to play around with the songs and the ability to belt it out, we'll do the rest.
Artistic integrity is not a thing, this is cheesy, fun and for the audience. The goal is to be entertaining above everything else, get those drunkards dancing.
The attached demos are something I came up with in an afternoon for an idea so it's really basic. Loops, fake horns and one take guitars it's got everything a bad demo should have.
