Sound engineer wanted for a rock-based function band from the Southampton area to play gigs around the South coast.
We are a four-piece band consisting of drums, bass, guitar and vocals suitable for weddings, parties, corporate functions, and similar. Formed in 1999, we are an established and experienced outfit with music spanning the ‘50s and ‘60s through to the present day.
We are seeking a confident soundman capable of achieving an exciting live mix suitable for a party audience and on occasion with no soundcheck. Our typical playlist is about two hours of material, mostly well-known, popular cover tunes from the ‘60s onwards. Own transport capable of carrying a medium-sized PA is essential, but no equipment is needed as the band has its own PA rig. Gigs will typically be weekends only with the occasional Friday and only usually up to two hours travelling time from Southampton. On the day of a gig, you must be available to collect and transport the PA to the venue at the required time and be responsible for the gear once at the venue. Pay is dependant on the booking, but typically is around £100 per gig. Must be reliable and easy to contact through phone/email and an experience of function gigging would be an advantage.
