Hello! We are Glossolalia, a band based in Brighton. We play a mix of American Delta Blues (think electrified R.L. Burnside), Saharan Desert Blues (think Tinariwen, Mdou Moctar, Ali Farka Toure) and Arabic Psych (think Natacha Atlas, bits of Altin Gun etc).
We're looking for a capable bassist to join the band and fill out that low end! The songs are not complex harmonically, but are very syncopated and groove based, so we're looking for someone with a real emphasis on rhythm, groove and syncopation. Have a listen to some Tinariwen basslines and you'll get the right vibe.
The lineup consists of Sam on Lead Vocals, Banjo & Electric Oud, Jack on Electric Guitar and other misc instruments, Anish on drums, and Tamara on percussion and BV's. We're all about 30 years old, so someone in that age range would be ideal. We are an inclusive band with a mix of ethnicities, genders etc so don't feel shy!
