Hi all, I'm Ruth and I've been singing all my life but more seriously since the age of 16. I'm 22 and have a lot of experience singing. I had singing lessons when I was a bit younger in light opera and musical theatre, which gave me the technique, but I prefer to sing less restricting styles. I've performed on stage since being 8, both singing and dancing and get a real buzz out of performing for an audience.

At the moment I'm part of a 6 piece Soul band called The Roundels and we generally gig around the Stockton/Middlesbrough area. I'm happy doing covers or learning songs that other people have written. I don't write myself but would love to learn to with a bit of guidance!

Although I love playing with The Roundels, I would love to form an acoustic act, generally playing covers but hopefully re-arranging them a bit. Just starting a new job and things so probably not the right time right now, but possibly towards the end of the year.

I have very mixed taste so I'm listing here people that have inspired me, not necessarily people that I would like to sound like or intend to replicate...

Adele, Ray Charles, Slash's Snakepit, Alter Bridge, Eva Cassidy, Maroon 5 and plenty of others.

I have a Shure Beta 58A microphone. I do have a decent stand as well but I don't tend to use it very often.
