"Chesterfield lads Ruberlaris collide aspects of rock n roll, reggae, folk and ska at break-neck speeds with their debut EP Life As We Know It. Recorded in secret Sheffield studio with the Essence, Ruberlaris have written an honest, heart-felt EP that's fun, catchy, danceable and will have appeal with the underground and the mainstream.

Drawing on their shared experiences of being young, skint and... stoned in their small market town. Ruberlaris' lyrical content is akin to the social narratives of Arctic Monkeys and Jarvis Cocker. With unpretentious, self-explanatory songs, people will relate to this EP and after a handful of listens will find lines like drinking in a pub not far from home, trying to get pissed on ya last bit a dough, that’s life, cemented in their minds.

The consistency of this EP is brilliant so standout tracks are more personal preference than blatantly obvious. One would be fu*k The Label, which starts with infectious lead guitar riff over building drums, groovy bass and a skank reggae rhythm. The song drops down to a broad, northern vocal but this ain't no Yorkshire accent! This is Derbyshire talk, in keeping with current northern style but refreshingly different! Another favourite would be one of the first songs these guys wrote Holly's Song. As I've had the pleasure of seeing these guys develop from an acoustic duo, to full band, this is one tune that has stood the test of time. With humorous lyrical content, brilliant melodies and a feel-good vibe this song makes you want to dance your socks off and sing your heart out.

Being highly prolific, Ruberlaris are always at their art, crafting songs, performing live and as one EP's out, they're already thinking of another. If you're looking for a real life, groovy band that play for the love alone, check Ruberlaris out. Full of character, this is a great EP and will have you skank-dancing and singing along in no time!"
