I'm originally from rural North Carolina, had a lot of musical training in school (especially on brass and percussion), but over the last five or six years, I've really started playing more acoustic, folk-inspired music. My main genres are bluegrass, newgrass, classic country, and American and Irish folk music. I've played in an Irish folk group for a couple of years, and played at acoustic/bluegrass jams for years. I have a pretty eclectic taste though, and I'm not opposed to taking modern pop, old heavy metal, or jazz standards and turning them into bluegrass style tunes.
I'd love to meet some people here in Manchester who are interested in jamming or, even better, putting together a band and gigging when possible. I don't know the acoustic music scene here, so someone local who does would be great.
