ABOUT

I'm a young minded 62-year-old who likes to play guitar and sing. I've only really been trying to get better for a very few years and progress has been frustratingly slow at times. I think I maybe qualify as an intermediate guitarist and on good days, my singing is reasonable.
I'm filling this form in with the hope that I may meet other people who just want to enjoy playing music with others and maybe forming a band and doing a few gigs. At the beginning of this year, I did a short spot at an open mic evening. This was pretty well received and I enjoyed it.

Influences

I love a huge range of music. Old favorites include Led Zeppelin, Fleetwood Mac, Janis Joplin, Bob Dylan, Rolling Stones, Donovan, Lindisfarne, Alex Harvey, Fairport Convention and lots more. I also really like Pink, Ed Sheeran, Bruno Mars, Christina Perri and quite a lot of pop music from the last 20 years. I should also mention the Rat Pack, Ella Fitzgerald, and loads of older jazz musicians.
I enjoy listening to classical music too but don't play it. I could add a lot more. I'd say I just love good music from almost any genre.

EQUIPMENT

Yamaha APX500II, Fishman Loudbox Mini Charge Amp and a couple of mics and stands.
Also an Epiphone Dot Studio which I hardly ever play.
