ABOUT

Hello!

We're Ringlefinch, a London-based alternative folk band. Nice to meet you. Our lovely viola player and backing vocalist (also player of castanets and kazoo...) Gillian is about to go off on maternity leave, and we're looking to recruit! We've just released our debut CD and have a great reputation on the London folk scene as a really fun band, mainly because we have so much fun ourselves when playing (one of our tag lines is a quote from an audience member - "Joyful, joyful rambunctious glory!").

Because vocal harmonies are a big part of our sound, we're looking for a female viola or violin player who can sing and is comfortable with harmony and the occasional short lead line.

The video for our single 'Drink Alone' (http://youtu.be/etrfJy8Bczo) will give you a good idea of the sort of thing we do, and the energy and fun we bring. If you want to hear more of our music, you can hear the full 'Mass Trespass' CD on SoundCloud here: https://soundcloud/RinglefinchUK. Our full website is at www.ringlefinch.co.uk.

To tell you a little more, from our official biog:

---
Ringlefinch are a London based alternative folk band with an eye for mischief, an ear for an earworm, and a beat for your feet! Their unique sound blends the strong melodies and storytelling of folk music, the toe-tapping rhythms of swing and jazz manouche, and dark-humoured, wittily introspective lyrics to create rabble-rousing songs with moments of genuine tenderness.

"A stomping good-time folky band with touches of flamenco, gypsy jazz and swing" - Softly Softly
---

We gig regularly (at least a couple of times a month) mostly in London so far, though played a small festival in Somerset recently and are off to the Edinburgh Fringe in mid August. We've then got gigs booked throughout the autumn and are looking at the winter, and have some pretty big and exciting plans for 2015 - including festivals, recording, and more!

Hope you like what you hear - if you're at all interested then please do get in touch!

All the best,
Andy / Ringlefinch
