First gigged at 13 in my dad's band! Had a few years in my early 20s trying to be a superstar in a couple of bands(!). From late 30s onwards played in covers bands, and stopped gigging about 15 years ago for a variety of reasons, but bought myself a TD-20 electronic kit which is amazing and gives me great pleasure. I moved from London to Gloucester about 5 years ago.
I miss the gigs and camaraderie of a band environment, so wondered if I could join a band locally.

Influences
Many and varied, from jazz in my very early days (Dad was a huge Dave Brubeck fan, so Joe Morello was an idol!), Buddy Rich of course, but on a more contemporary basis it would have to be Carter Beauford of the Dave Matthews Band. I'd love to attempt a couple of DMB tracks live .... not that I can shine a light on Carter of course, but just attempting to emulate him is a blast!
I think the TD-12 would gig OK .... at least Yamaha claim it will!
