Biography
Rick Hampton has been a consistent presence on the live music scene for over 40 years, performing with a wide range of bands, theatre productions, and live music projects across an equally broad musical spectrum.

His experience spans everything from the disco and funk sounds of the 1970s with The 7 Teez Show, to the intricate bass work of TOTO as a member of Journey 2 Toto, as well as touring nationally with one of the UK’s most popular country music acts, Arizona Storm. This varied career has equipped Rick with a wealth of live performance experience, stylistic versatility, and a strong command of differing techniques.

Alongside his extensive band and touring work, Rick also brings valuable theatre pit and live production experience, working in environments where musical accuracy, consistency, professionalism, and the ability to support a wider cast and production team are essential. His background makes him equally at home in both live stage productions and high-energy band performances.

A highly active and committed musician, Rick performs regularly in a variety of settings — from local venues and private functions to theatre stages and large-scale festivals — while also successfully running his own private music school.

His performance résumé includes The Darkside (Pink Floyd Tribute), Journey 2 Toto, Devoted To Rock, and he is currently the bass player with the renowned festival band Rock The 80s.

Alongside his live performance work, Rick also runs Bass & Guitar Lessons, his own private teaching business specialising in guitar, bass, and drums tuition.

Rick is a dedicated, reliable, and experienced professional currently seeking opportunities within theatre-based musical productions, touring shows, and live performance projects.

Influences

Paul McCartney, Phil Lynott, Mike Porcarro, John Deacon,Mike Rutherford and John Entwistle for the bass playing. The Beatles, Toto, Chicago, Jackson Brown, Queen, Bob Seger, Mary Chapin Carpenter, James Taylor, Fleetwood Mac, Elton John (this list could go on) for musical inspiration.
The Little River Band from Australia are my favourite band and my all-time favourite artist is Cliff Richard.
